With everything going on in the world currently, lowering food waste is probably on your list of essential things. If leftovers usually go to your fridge to die, there’s one easy trick I use to make sure they get used before expiring.
Dedicate one shelf in your refrigerator, or a section of a shelf, for leftovers. If you can, make it a higher shelf at eye level, so it catches your attention right when you peer into the fridge looking for your next meal.
This goes along with the “first in, first out” method used for keeping produce fresh in restaurants. Use the oldest items first to prevent spoiling, and keep your newer items for next!
